A Verse from The Noble Qur'an:

Allah (God) states in the Noble Qur'an (2: 223):

Your wives are a tilth (cultivation of land) for you, so go to your tilth (have sexual relations with your wives), when or how you will, and send before you for your ownselves. And fear Allah (God), and know that you are to meet Him, and give good tidings to the believers.

Pondering upon the above verse:

We notice from pondering upon the above verse that Allah (God) Almighty gives the similitude of women to that of cultivating a land, thus the question now is: how can women be compared to cultivated agricultural land?

This topic shows the knowledge that can be learned from this statement by the Almighty with regards to women and that this statement is a great sign from the Almighty, which contains many branches of knowledge such as:

- Teaching people the truth with regards to marriage and how to teach young people about the purity of marriage, conception, and birth and not to follow the guesswork of people that distorts the beauty of this act.

- Describing women by a cultivated piece of land shows the easiness of the creator to create humans and to resurrect them again on the Day of Judgment, and this description has a direct correlation with the resurrection of the dead on the Day of Judgment and the reviving a dead land by growing plants therein.
